In early 2017, a group of 21 like-minded individuals and I arrived at Rikhiapeeth with eager, open minds. Most of us were first-timers, excited to participate in a 5-day medical camp organized by the ashram as part of its ongoing initiatives to serve the local villagers.
The Impact of the Medical Camp at Rikhiapeeth
The camp left a lasting impression as:
Over 2,500 patients were attended to by volunteers, staff, and doctors from across the country.
Many participants—patients, volunteers, and doctors—would likely never meet again, yet we worked together in perfect harmony.
From registration to dispensing medicines and assisting at the exit desk, the operations ran smoothly, thanks to our shared purpose.
This experience demonstrated the essence of Karma Yoga—to offer oneself in service without expectation. It was a real-life opportunity to live the teachings of Karma Yoga, being fully present and giving our best.

The Serene Beauty of Rikhiapeeth
Beyond the service, the serene ashram premises had their own way of nourishing the heart, mind, and soul. The atmosphere was filled with:
Constant chants of the Mahamrityunjaya mantra, invoking healing and peace.
Lush green landscapes and blossoms, offering a sense of tranquility.
Dawns that felt mesmerizing, filling each morning with stillness and gratitude.
Melodious kirtans, invoking divinity and devotion through sound.

The Philosophy of Rikhiapeeth: Serve, Love, Give
Rikhiapeeth follows a guiding principle that resonates deeply with everyone:
Serve, Love, Give, Purify, Meditate, Realize
The ashram encourages us to:
Be good and do good.
Be kind and compassionate.
This theme song of Rikhiapeeth gives direction for the journey ahead, reminding us of the core principles to follow in life.

A Personal Journey of Self-Discovery
Each one of us in our group found what we sought most during this experience. The ashram's energy allowed us to reflect, learn, and travel our own paths toward personal growth.

Closing Thoughts
This medical camp at Rikhiapeeth was more than just an act of service—it was a lesson in Karma Yoga and a path of self-discovery. As we step into the New Year, may these teachings inspire us to live with kindness, compassion, and gratitude.
Final Blessing:
Serve, Love, Give.
Purify, Meditate, Realize.
